Application Packager/App-V Sequencer

I am currently working for Capita IT Services as an application packager/sequencer. This role requires creating packages to industry best practices as part of a Windows 7 migration project. The packages are created using Wise Package Studio v8 and sequenced using App-V for deployment to Windows 7 PC's using SCCM. The role also includes creating documentation and performing QA's of colleagues work.

Application Packager/App-V Sequencer

I am currently working for Babcock International as a SC cleared application packager/sequencer. This

role required creating packaged to industry best practices as part of a Windows 7 x64 migration project. 

The packages were created using Adminstudio 11.5 and sequenced using App-V 4.6 for deployment using 

SCCM. The role also included performing discovery, creating documentation and UAT.

Application Packager


Working on a contract via HP packaging software for the government. Creating new packages or updating 

existing packages for deployment onto Windows 2003 server and Windows XP workstations via Radia. The 

server packages are scripted in XML using AMP. The workstation packages are created using Adminstudio, 

Orca and Radia. Packages are created and tested using VM Ware. The role is responsible for creating 

installation documentation. This role is a very challenging role with very strict deadlines requiring a high 

throughput of packages packaged to a very high standard which requires an indepth knowledge of MSI 

technologies, scripting (AMP and VB) and Radia.

MSI Application Packager

Working with 5 other application packagers to package software to best practices and company standards for deployment via SMS2000/2003 to Vista and XP workstations. Test functionality of the MSI packages for Vista deployment. Working to company specified SLA’s using a combination of Adminstudio, Orca and in-house written VB tools to create and modify the MSI/MST, validate and conflict solve. This role covers software discovery, application packaging including Vista remediation and UAT. For the first 2 weeks of the contract I was involved in the software discovery process for the application packaging, recommending any changes to the existing company processes.

I was one of 3 permanent packagers looking after the packaging for clients in the UK. My role was to package applications into the MSI format using Macrovision Adminstudio and make them available to users for automatic installation using SMS and Radia to NT and XP workstation. I also managed software updates, patches, process improvement and fault resolution for existing packages.

Senior PC Support Technician/Team Leader

Senior Support Technician assisting in running a team of 6 engineers supporting 2000+ XP and Citrix workstations and a multitude of different server builds. Performed new installs and fault diagnosis/resolution. Worked on many projects and rollouts including the Year 2000 delivery of new PC’s, applications and servers allowing a seamless move for the Norwich Union PC environment in to the Year2000.

PC Support Technician

Worked in a team of 6 engineers supporting 1000+ PC’s and servers running a mixture of NT 4.0 and NT 3.51. Provided new installs and fault diagnosis/resolution for 3 offsite locations working to very tight Service Level Agreements. Rolled out NT to 300+ PC’s. Role required (extensive/frequent) out of hours work and allowed demonstration of flexible/adaptable characteristics in the workplace.

Operational Prover

Worked as an operational prover in a team of 6. Responsible for testing a multitude of DEC/VMS programs that were to be delivered to the Live environment. Was required to locate any faults or non-compliance to specification and recommend improvements to the programs to provide better programs for the Business.
